A Manhattan Kitchen

This Manhattan apartment had last been renovated in 1990, and the kitchen was both outdated and unnecessarily dark. The owner had a passion for both color and restrained design, so I chose a bright marine blue encaustic tile from Greece for the floor, pairing it with a neutral backdrop of soft grey, white, and blond oak. I also opened up a pass-through window to the living room, allowing for more daylight in the kitchen.
